A username you can live with

Because the username is permanent, treat it like a handle you will keep. Pick something short that you can type from memory on a phone keyboard, for example a nickname plus two digits that mean something only to you. Leave your full name and birthday out of it.

If you later find you want a different one, the help centre points you to online customer service for account questions, but it states plainly that a submitted username is fixed.

Submitting the form gives you an account, and three things usually follow.

1. Log in. Use the same Username and Password in the top bar.
